Dir en gay!

First off... I don't want to offend anyone with the title of the post.
I have nothing against gays or anyone with an alternative lifestyle ^^

But on with the topic... I've went cold turkey on Dir en grey.
I don't listen to them anymore, because I'm not liking their new music.

Maybe it's me who's not getting it. Sure they sound different in many ways,
as they have changed through out the years, from being a Visual Kei band,
to be something completely new; but to me they seem to be devolving rather
than evolving.

Their last 2 albums sucked big time. "Whithering to Death" had only a handful
of good songs (if not 2), and their last "Marrow of the Bone" just plain sucked.
At least to me, don't take my word for it, since we all have different opinions.
Both albums sound too commercial to me.

I now listen to other bands such as Deathgaze, Lynch, etc, etc...

I hope that with the release of their new single they come back to senses,
and start making good music again.

Marrow is slightly better in that I listen to it once a month rather than Withering which I listen to every few months. I must have hope for my favorite band. Hopefully the next album moves away from "Fuck the Dickface Tragedy in the Anus Despair" stuff.

I would say "at least they didn't go soft" but their softer songs are pretty good and it would actually be an improvement.

I heard the new single a bit, and it sounds a bit different.
But the point is, they have been playing more their old songs from previous
albums than the ones on the new albums.

They must also know this, and hopefully they can fix things.
I would like to see them take the "Vulgar" path once more and have a super-ultra
kick ass album, rather than another "filler" album >_<

Like I said, as of now I don't listen to anything from them, not even their old
stuff! (Well, I do listen to La:Sadies, but that's not officially Diru).

In any case, I can sense that they will come down from their spot sooner than
expected if they keep it that way...

i dont have a problem with any of their albums. sure some are better than the others, but they constantly change, so if you dont like one album, then dont worry because the next one wont sound like it. even their metal-esque Marrow stuff, people may not like it as much as earlier stuff, but if you compare Marrow to another album from the same genre like a Slipknot cd... yeahh... Marrow is MUCH better.

Someone mentioned Slipknot, and I never cared for Slipknot, but Dir en grey are far better
than any of this NuMetal garbage that's around.

Now, I'm not saying they are completely bad, but they have lacked in many ways.
And it's true, it sounds though as if their new albums are too American.
They almost sound EMO! (OMG) >_<

I hope they get that fixed ASAP!
